Tesla has opened the pre booking for its first road legal flying car, the Tesla roadster! Here is all that you need to know!

US auto giant Tesla recently showcased the world's first road-legal flying car, the Tesla Roadster powered by SpaceX. It is said that the production of this flying EV is set to begin in 2028. However, bookings for the Tesla Roadster have opened in India for a token amount of ₹50.06 lakhs.
The booking amount has to be paid in 2 easy instalments. The first instalment will be of ₹5.01 lakhs, while the second instalment will be for Rs 45.5 lakhs. As per the latest media reports, the Indian spec Tesla Roadster will only have 2 variants—Thrust and Rocket.
Variants Explained
Thrust will be available in a 2-seat configuration. It will come equipped with cold-gas thrusters, which will help the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under a second.
If these claims are true, the Tesla Roadster will beat the McMurthy Spéirling, which currently holds the title of the world's fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration of 1.4 seconds, the 2025 Rimac Nevera R (0-100 km/h in 1.7 seconds) and the Aspark Owl (0-100 km/h in 1.8 seconds).
The Rocket variant will be offered with a single-seat configuration; this variant will come equipped with actual gas thrusters, which enable it to take flight, as seen during the showcase event. This variant will be an invite-only purchase.
Power Dynamics
As of now, no technical information has been revealed in terms of its battery packs or power layouts.
It is being said that this performance EV will get a high-downforce, steer-by-wire system, a high-downforce and height-lowering system for track modes, magnesium, titanium, carbon-fiber construction materials, microsuede upholstery and dashboard lining, and concealed headlights.
