CarBounty Privacy Policy

Last updated: Oct 24, 2026 · @Piyush Anand

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how urbanFleet Technology Private Limited ("CarBounty", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the CarBounty website, mobile apps and related services (the "Platform"). Section 5 also sets out exactly what happens to the ₹999 promise fee you pay to open a Closed Virtual Offer Room, and when it is refunded.

This is Version 2.0 of the policy. It replaces the policy dated 15 August 2026. It is written to follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (together, the "DPDP framework"). Under that framework you are the Data Principal (the person the data is about) and CarBounty is the Data Fiduciary (the company that decides how and why the data is used). By using the Platform and giving us your information, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy.

  • Company: urbanFleet Technology Private Limited, operating the brand CarBounty

  • CIN: U82990HR2026PTC143108

  • Registered office: 703 Palm Court, Sector 16, Gurugram, Haryana 122007

  • Business address: Omaxe Celebration Mall, Sector 48, Sohna Road, Gurugram, Haryana

  • Contact: admin@carbounty.com · +91 79090 83806

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to help you buy your car and to run the Platform.

Category

What it includes

Identity and contact

Your name, mobile number, email address, city, pincode or delivery location

Car requirement

The exact car you want – make, model, variant, colour, delivery timeline, and any exchange or finance preference you tell us. Also any quotation from a showroom that you choose to upload

Verification data

Information used to confirm you are a genuine buyer, such as a one-time password sent to your mobile number

Payment data

The fact and amount of your ₹999 promise fee and of any add-on service you buy, with the payment reference returned by our payment gateway. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank credentials

Communication records

Messages you exchange with us over WhatsApp, email or in-app chat, and calls connected through our masked-calling system, which may be recorded for quality and dispute resolution

Purchase and vehicle data

Booking, VIN, inspection and delivery details for the car you buy through the Platform, and documents you give us for a service you buy (for example, your vehicle registration number or invoice copy)

Technical and usage data

Device type, browser, IP address, and how you move through our website and apps, collected through cookies and similar technologies

Marketing identifiers

Identifiers used to measure our advertising, including hashed (irreversibly encoded) versions of your email or phone number where you have consented

How we collect it

  • Directly from you, when you create an account, post a car requirement, verify your number, pay the promise fee, buy an add-on service, or communicate with us.

  • Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you browse the Platform (see Section 8).

  • From service providers who help us operate, such as our payment gateway confirming that a payment or refund has gone through.

  • From the dealership you select, so we can track your booking, inspection and delivery.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as caste, religion, health or biometric data, and we ask you not to share it with us. We do not want information about the internal pricing or discount decisions of any dealership.

3. How we use your information

  • To run your Closed Virtual Offer Room. To create and manage your account, confirm you are a genuine buyer, and send your car requirement to authorised dealerships (see Section 4).

  • To handle your promise fee and refunds. To collect the ₹999 through our payment gateway, issue your GST invoice, and process refunds under Section 5.

  • To connect you with the dealership you select. To introduce you to that one dealership and to coordinate VIN allotment, the pre-delivery inspection and delivery.

  • To provide services you buy. To deliver any add-on service you pay for, such as inspection, paperwork or vehicle reminders.

  • To communicate with you. To send offer updates, service messages and replies to your questions over WhatsApp, email, in-app chat or a masked call.

  • To keep the Platform fair and safe. To prevent fraud and misuse – for example, repeated rooms opened to test prices without an intention to buy – and to keep our systems secure.

  • To measure our advertising. To understand which campaigns bring genuine buyers, where you have given consent (see Section 8).

  • To meet legal obligations. To comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, and keep required records.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give us and, where permitted, for the legitimate uses recognised under the DPDP framework. You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it (see Section 7).

4. The Closed Virtual Offer Room and who sees your information

The Closed Virtual Offer Room is built to protect your privacy. This is exactly what happens to your information:

  • You stay private while offers come in. When you open a room, three authorised dealerships near you are invited to send private offers for the exact car you asked for. They can see the car requirement, but not your name or contact details.

  • You choose – then, and only then, you are introduced. Your name and contact details go only to the dealership whose offer you select. The dealerships you do not choose never receive your contact information.

  • Offers stay private. One dealership's offer is never shown to another, and no offer is ever published anywhere. We do not coordinate pricing between dealerships.

  • We never sit in the money path for your car. CarBounty does not collect, hold or pass on the price of your car. You pay the dealership directly. The only amounts you pay us are the ₹999 promise fee and any add-on service you choose to buy.

When and with whom we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited ways:

  • Your selected dealership. Your name and contact details, so they can complete your purchase and share booking, VIN, inspection and delivery updates with us.

  • Payment gateway. Our payment partner (Cashfree) processes your promise fee, add-on payments and refunds. They handle your payment credentials under their own security standards; we do not store them.

  • Communication providers. We use a masked-calling and messaging provider (Exotel) so that you and a dealership can speak without seeing each other's personal phone numbers.

  • Service providers for add-ons. Where you buy a service that needs it, we share only the details required with the provider that performs it (for example, a vehicle-record or verification provider).

  • Your employer or programme partner. If you join through an employer or partner programme using a code, we may confirm to them that the code was used, as explained to you when you use the code.

  • Analytics and advertising partners. Where you consent, we share limited and, where possible, hashed identifiers with providers such as Google and Meta to measure advertising performance (see Section 8).

  • Professional advisers and authorities. Our auditors, legal advisers, or government and regulatory authorities where the law requires it.

We require every service provider to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. Your ₹999 promise fee and refunds

To open a Closed Virtual Offer Room you pay a promise fee of ₹999 through our payment gateway. It shows dealerships that you are a serious buyer. It is never part of the price of your car, which you always pay the dealership directly. You receive a GST invoice for it in your name.

When the ₹999 is refunded

You get the full ₹999 back in one situation only: you do not select any dealership's offer, and you exit the room. This covers the cases where you do not like any of the offers, you change your mind about buying, or the room ends without you selecting an offer. To exit, tap "Close room" in the app or write to admin@carbounty.com from your registered email or mobile number.

When the ₹999 is not refunded

Once you select any dealership's offer, the ₹999 is not refunded in any case. From that moment it is CarBounty's service fee for arranging the offers, the introduction to the dealership, VIN allotment, inspection and delivery support. It stays with us even if you later cancel the booking, do not buy the car, buy from another dealership or elsewhere, or change your mind about the car.

Opening a second room within 7 days

If you open a second room within 7 days of opening an earlier room in which you did not select any dealership, the ₹999 paid for that earlier room is treated as a service fee and is not refunded. This applies whether the earlier room is still open or already closed. The 7 days count from the date and time the earlier room was opened. If the refund for the earlier room has already been paid to you, the ₹999 for the new room is treated as the service fee instead. Your latest room then follows the normal rules above.

Situation

What happens to your ₹999

You close the room without selecting any dealership

Refunded in full

The room ends and you have not selected any offer

Refunded in full

You select a dealership's offer (whether or not you then buy the car)

Not refunded – kept as CarBounty's service fee

You open a second room within 7 days of a room where you selected no dealership

The earlier room's ₹999 is not refunded; the latest room follows the normal rules

Your payment failed after the amount was debited, or you were charged twice

The extra amount is refunded in full

The dealership you selected cannot provide the car on the offer it made, for reasons on the dealership's side

We first arrange the same car from another partner dealership; if that is not possible, the ₹999 is refunded in full

How refunds are paid

  • Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through our payment gateway (Cashfree). No deduction is made from the ₹999.

  • We start the refund within 2–3 working days of the room closing without a selection. Most refunds reach you within 2–3 working days after that; some banks and card issuers take up to 7 working days.

  • If a refund has not reached you within 10 working days, write to admin@carbounty.com with your registered mobile number and payment reference.

  • If we offer any other paid service, its refund terms are shown to you before you pay.

If any message in the app or in our marketing says something different about refunds, this Section 5 applies.

6. How long we keep your information and how we protect it

We keep your personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. When your requirement is complete or withdrawn and no legal reason remains to keep the data, we delete it or make it permanently anonymous. Records tied to a payment, a refund, a GST invoice or a completed purchase are kept for the period required by tax, accounting and company law.

We apply reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and loss. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls that limit who can see your information, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a personal data breach happens, we will act in line with the DPDP framework, including notifying you and the Data Protection Board of India where required.

7. Your rights and choices

Under the DPDP framework you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.

  • Have your personal data corrected, completed or updated.

  • Have your personal data erased where it is no longer needed and no law requires us to keep it.

  • Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.

  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or are unable to act.

  • Grievance redressal (see Section 10).

To use any of these rights, write to admin@carbounty.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within the timelines set by law.

Communications and your preferences

We contact you mainly through WhatsApp, email and in-app messages for offer updates and service messages, and through masked calls where a conversation is needed. Service messages that are essential to a purchase you have started (for example, a payment confirmation, a refund update or a delivery date) are part of providing the service. You can opt out of promotional messages at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, replying STOP on WhatsApp, or writing to admin@carbounty.com.

8. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Platform working, remember your preferences, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising.

  • Analytics and conversion measurement. We use tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel with its Conversions API to understand which pages and campaigns are effective. Where you consent, we may share hashed (irreversibly encoded) versions of your email or phone number with Google and Meta so they can confirm that an advertisement led to a genuine action, without revealing your details in readable form.

  • Your choices. We apply consent controls (including Google Consent Mode) so that advertising and analytics cookies are set only where you allow them. You can change your cookie choices at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Turning off non-essential cookies will not stop you from using the core Platform.

9. Children, third-party links, changes and governing law

Children. The Platform is for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under 18, and we do not use children's data for tracking or targeted advertising. If you believe a minor has given us personal data, write to admin@carbounty.com and we will delete it.

Third-party links. The Platform may link to websites run by others, such as a dealership or a payment provider. This policy does not cover those websites. Please read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. When we make a material change – including any change to the refund rules in Section 5 – we will post the updated policy on the Platform with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, notify you directly. The refund rules that apply to a room are the ones in force on the date that room was opened.

Governing law. This policy is governed by the laws of India. Subject to any right you have to approach a consumer forum, the courts at Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction.

10. Grievance redressal and contact

If you have a concern about your personal data, a payment or a refund, contact our Grievance Officer:

  • Grievance Officer: Piyush Anand, Founder & CEO

  • Email: admin@carbounty.com

  • Phone: +91 79090 83806

  • Address: urbanFleet Technology Private Limited, Omaxe Celebration Mall, Sector 48, Sohna Road, Gurugram, Haryana

We acknowledge every grievance within 48 hours and resolve it within the timelines required under applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response on a personal-data matter, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
